Partnership FAQs
Questions Administrators Ask Before Partnering
The five questions most agriculture department chairs and deans ask before taking the next step with IFAL × Avila.
A community college partnership makes the Foundation Certificate available to your agriculture and agribusiness students as a complementary credential they can earn alongside their associate degree — without changing your curriculum or adding burden to your faculty.

There are three models — and you can start with Option A this week with no agreement at all:
Option A · Co-Curricular — Zero Cost to Launch
Students self-enrol via IFAL.ac at $499. No MOU, no cost to the college, no committee approval needed. Your college is listed as an IFAL Network Member.
Option B · Embedded Partnership
Signed articulation agreement, co-branding as an Official IFAL Partner Institution, and joint marketing support. IFAL handles all content and assets.
Option C · Group Cohort Enrolment
Institutional pricing, Perkins V & USDA grant compatible, full completion tracking and analytics for grant compliance reporting.

On completion, students receive the Foundation Certificate co-issued by Avila University and IFAL — appearing on their résumé and LinkedIn with Avila University's institutional name.
Perkins V (the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, reauthorised 2018) provides federal funding to states for Career and Technical Education programmes.

IFAL supports community college partners with the Industry-Recognized Credential (IRC) process for the Foundation and Advanced Certificates — meaning there is a pathway to funding student enrolments through Perkins V for eligible institutions.

The Option C cohort model is specifically designed for group enrolment via Perkins V funding, USDA grants, and industry-sponsored workforce training. IFAL provides full completion tracking and analytics reporting for grant compliance — so your grants team has exactly the documentation they need.

Contact us at Agribusiness@Avila.edu to discuss the IRC process and your institution's eligibility.
Avila University brings three specific assets that matter for community college and workforce development credibility:
HLC Accreditation — same regional accrediting body as the University of Missouri, Kansas State, and Iowa State. The credential carries institutional weight recognisable to employers, transfer institutions, and federal funding frameworks.
Social Mobility Mission — ranked #18 in the Midwest for Social Mobility by US News 2026. Expanding access to university-co-issued credentials for community college students is directly aligned with Avila's core institutional mission.
Transfer-Friendly Institution — nearly 1 in 3 Avila students are transfer students. The institution understands and actively supports the community college pipeline — your students are not an afterthought here.
Community college students face a documented higher dropout risk in online credential programmes — due to weaker academic support infrastructure and the competing demands of work, family, and study. The Agribusiness Coach addresses this directly.

Every learner receives 12 weeks of Agribusiness Coach access that:
Answers student questions in real time, in the context of their specific learning stage and agricultural background
Connects the curriculum to the student's own career goals and local agribusiness context
Provides personalised encouragement when a student pauses or slows down
Reduces the isolation that online learners experience — particularly valuable for first-gen students and rural learners without access to professional networks
Option A requires nothing at all — your students can be enrolling this week. Simply share the Foundation Certificate page with your agriculture faculty and students and they self-enrol directly. Your college gets listed as an IFAL Network Member automatically.

For Option B or C, IFAL handles the documentation at every stage:
1
30-minute intro call — no-obligation conversation with IFAL leadership about your institution and students
2
Review content — evaluate the IFAL courses and Avila certificate documentation at your own pace
3
Select your model — choose Co-Curricular, Embedded, or Cohort based on your institutional priorities
4
Launch — students enrol on a rolling basis. IFAL provides onboarding, AI coaching, and completion tracking from day one
